Scriptural Definitions and Boundaries

With my first writing, I would like to set scriptural definitions and boundaries that will be used in future writings.  I believe we should let scriptures define scriptures, we need to test the RUACH of all things we hear against scriptures.   All verses come from "the Scriptures 2009" version.

  • What is Scripture? (YAHUSHA's/Jesus's definition).
    • Luke 24:44    And He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all have to be filled that were written in the Torah of Mosheh (Moses) and the Prophets and the Tehillim (Psalms) concerning Me.”
    • Luke 24:45   Then He (YAHUSHA) opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
  • TORAH --- the Instructions in YAHUAH's (YHWH) Righteousness
    • 2 Timothy 3:16   All Scripture is breathed out by Elohim (God/YAHUAH) and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness,
    • Romans 10:5   For Moshe writes about the righteousness which is of the Torah (the Law, the first five books of the Old Testament), “The man who does these shall live by them.” (see Leviticus 18:5)
  • YHWH (YAHUAH) Does not Change - Ever
    • Hebrews 13:8   יהושע Messiah (YAHUSHA HA'MASSIACH) is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
    • Malachi 3:6   “For I am יהוה (YAHUAH) , I shall not change, and you, O sons of Ya‛aqoḇ (Jacob/Israel), shall not come to an end.
  • YHWH (YAHUAH) Does not Lie
    • Numbers 23:19   Ěl (YAHUAH) is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent! Has He said, and would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it?
  • It is Impossible for the Scriptures to be broken
    • John 10:35   “If He called them elohim (gods), to whom the word of Elohim (YAHUAH/God)  came – and it is impossible for the Scripture to be broken –
  • The Torah is perfect
    • Psalm 19:7   The Torah of יהוה (YAHUAH) is perfect, bringing back the being; The witness of יהוה (YAHUAH) is trustworthy, making wise the simple;
      • Perfect (H8549) is the English word for the Hebrew word taw'meem (tamiym): without spot, undefiled, upright(-ly), whole.
  • Torah is Established
    • Romans 3:31   Do we then nullify the Torah through the belief? Let it not be! On the contrary, we establish the Torah.
    • Kings James Version: Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
  • YAHUSHA Created All Things

      • Footnote: His ways, His paths, the teaching and the Word of YAHUAH are used synonymously

  • Torah is still in effect
    • Matthew 5:17   “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete.
      • Footnote: The Law and the Prophets is a term used for the pre-Messianic Scriptures.

        ἀνομία-ας, (ἄνομος);
        1. properly, the condition of one without law — either because ignorant of it, or because violating it.
        2. contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness:
  • The Desire of YAHUAH.

  • Eternal Life Requires Belief and Obedience
    • John 3:36    “He who believes in the Son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.”
    • James 2:17   So also belief, if it does not have works, is in itself dead.

    • James 2:26   For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also the belief is dead without the works.
    • From a Hebrew perspective, if you say you believe, then it is automatically assumed that you obey.   Belief gets you into the Kingdom.   Obedience keeps you inside of the Kingdom.   Obedience proves your Belief.
      • Revelation 22:14
  • The Final Judgement
    • Yahushua is the Right Hand of the Father YAHUAH.   He created the heavens and the earth, and He will judge the world in Righteousness.   Isaiah 51:7 states that righteousness is Torah in your heart and Isaiah 30:9 states that rebellion is turning your back on the Torah.
    • Acts 17:31   because He has set a day on which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed, having given proof of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
    • Yahushua is this Righteous Judge, and the following verses provide a brief glimpse of how He will judge all men at the end of time:
      • John 5:44 “How are you able to believe, when you are receiving esteem from one another, and the esteem that is from the only Elohim you do not seek?
      • John 5:45  “Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Mosheh (the Torah), in whom you have set your expectation.
      • John 5:46  “For if you believed Mosheh (the Torah), you would have believed Me, since he wrote about Me (the walking and talking Torah).
      • John 5:47  “But if you do not believe his writings (the Torah of Mosheh), how shall you believe My words (the walking and Talking Torah)?”
  • Warning for Yude (Jude)
    • Jude 1:3   Beloved ones, making all haste to write to you concerning our common deliverance, I felt the necessity to write to you urging you to earnestly contend for the belief which was once for all delivered to the set-apart ones.
    • Jude 1:4   For certain men have slipped in, whose judgment was written about long ago, wicked ones perverting the favor of our Elohim for indecency, and denying the only Master יהוה (Yahuah) and our Master יהושע (Yahushua) Messiah.
      • Lawlessness -> Matt 13, 2 Thes 2
  • Warning from Keepha (Peter)
    • 2 Peter 3:15   and reckon the patience of our Master as deliverance, as also our beloved brother Sha’ul (Paul) wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,
    • 2 Peter 3:16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these matters, in which some are hard to understand, which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures.
      • 1 Corinthians 11:6
    • 2 Peter 3:17   You, then, beloved ones, being forewarned, watch, lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the delusion of the lawless, (Torahless)
  • What YAHUAH declares Unclean - Remains Unclean
    • Job 14:4   Who brings the clean out of the unclean? No one!
  • Saved by Faith - Obedience Proves your Faith
    • John 3:36   “He who believes in the Son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.”
    • James 2:17  So also belief, if it does not have works, is in itself dead.
    • James 2:18   But someone might say, “You have belief, and I have works.” Show me your belief without your works, and I shall show you my belief by my works.
  • Sha'ul's View of Torah
    • Romans 7:12   So that the Torah truly is set-apart, and the command set-apart, and righteous, and good
    • Romans 7:16   But if I do what I do not wish, I agree with the Torah that it is good.
    • Romans 7:22   For I delight in the Torah of Elohim according to the inward man,

    • Acts 21:24   “Take them and be cleansed with them, and pay their expenses so that they shave their heads. And all shall know that what they have been informed about you is not so, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Torah.
  • Quote from Matthew Nolan, Torah to the Tribes, from his Mystery of the Melchizedek series, Part 1 - The Introduction.
    • Grace is the empowerment to live a holy and righteous life in a sick and twisted world.   The Western Christian Church isn't under YAHUAH's grace ... they're under His mercy ... the withholding of deserved judgment!   If they where under His grace they wouldn't be violating the law... because grace empowers you to keep the law and live a holy, just, righteous life.   Grace is what empowers you to keep the commandment, it doesn't allow you to live a lawless life of Church tradition.   Grace is what convicts us to continue on to our higher calling?   The Malki (the Kingdom of YAHUAH) Tzedik (Righteousness) covenant calling!
